Ford ranger manual steering pitman arm
· They are not the same, the manual pitman arm www.doorway.ru shaft on the manual steering box in smaller then the P/S box. Although the manual steering box bolts right up in place of a P/S box, there are several differences. The pitman arm is different and the actual steering column is differnt. · The manual steer box from ' are all the same so I replaced the p/s with the manual steering box, but what they dont tell you is that the Pitman arm is different from p/s to manual. Long story short finding a manual pitman arm for a ' Ranger is not easy. · Power steering was standard on all models beginning in '98 when they made the shift to rack and pinion. Manual steering isn't uncommon for small pickups or small cars '00 and older. I believe all that's needed to swap is a new box, the pump, the pump brackets on the motor, hoses, serp belt, and the reservoir. Pitman arm should be the same.

hey there im new to TRS and found it when i was looking for a pitman arm. this is the problem im having and it would help alot if someone knew how to fix this. i changed my power steering to a manual steering box. i have a manual stearing box pitman arm from a ranger. when i hooked it up. Is the Pitman arm for the ford power steering box the same as for the manual steering gear box? The part number in my parts book (what I can decipher of it) seems to be the same for both, but the spline on the output shaft of the power steering box is about 1/8" larger (/16" OD)than on the manual steering box I'm replacing and the old pitman arm doesn't fit.
